Weekend Caregiver

Part-Time Weekend Evening Caregiver Needed

I'm looking for a reliable, compassionate caregiver to assist my elderly mother in our home on weekday evenings.

Chicago Lawn / Marquette Park area

Saturday-Sunday

5:00–7:30 PM (5 hours/week)

$20/hour

Typical responsibilities include:

• Preparing/heating and serving dinner
• Bedpan/toileting assistance, including bowel care and cleanup
• Personal care and hygiene assistance
• Providing an in-bed bath approximately twice per week
• Repositioning in bed, including occasional use of a Hoyer lift to safely lift and reposition her within the bed
• Helping her get comfortable and settled for the evening
• Light caregiving-related cleanup
• Completing a simple shift checklist/care log

My mother is bed-bound, so this is a hands-on caregiving position. Applicants must be comfortable providing personal care, assisting with bowel movements and cleanup, and helping with repositioning.

At times, repositioning may require using a Hoyer lift to briefly lift and reposition her within the bed. **You do not need prior Hoyer lift experience; I will provide training on the equipment and our routine.** This position does not routinely involve transferring her out of bed.

She does not produce urine, so toileting assistance is for bowel movements only.

I'm looking for someone who is:

• Dependable and punctual
• Patient, kind and respectful
• Comfortable providing hands-on personal care
• Comfortable learning to safely use a Hoyer lift for in-bed repositioning
• Able to follow an established care routine
• Able to communicate reliably about scheduling and call-offs

Prior caregiving or CNA experience is preferred, but I will consider someone with appropriate personal caregiving experience and a willingness to learn our routine.

This is a consistent, ongoing part-time position with the same client and a clearly defined schedule. There may occasionally be opportunities to pick up additional shifts when another caregiver is unavailable, but additional shifts are optional.

**Please note:** There is a dog in the home for allergy-awareness purposes, but he stays downstairs and will be kept separate from the caregiving area during shifts.
