Engineering Specialist

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. SCADA System Development & Integration

· Develop, configure, and program SCADA applications (graphics, alarms, trends, reports).

· Integrate field devices (meters, sensors, VFDs, PLCs, chillers, pumps) into SCADA via Modbus/BACnet/OPC.

· Validate and map I/O points and ensure reliable data acquisition.

· Prepare data historian and dashboard templates for performance analysis.

B. Installation, Testing & Commissioning

· Lead SCADA installation and commissioning during project implementation.

· Perform point-to-point testing, FAT, SAT, and system acceptance with clients.

· Perform troubleshooting for communication failures, device mismatches, and logic errors.

C. Operation & Maintenance Support

· Monitor system performance, alarms, and communication status.

· Conduct regular preventive maintenance on servers, controllers, and communication networks.

· Apply firmware/software updates, patches, and backups.

· Provide remote and onsite support for operational issues.

D. Documentation & Reporting

· Prepare and update:

1. System architecture

2. Control philosophy

3. Network diagram

4. Panel layout and wiring

5. Tag database

6. Alarm matrix

· Generate KPI dashboards, run-time reports, and energy performance reviews.

E. Cybersecurity & OT Compliance

· Implement cybersecurity protocols for SCADA/OT systems (passwords, access control, network segregation).

· Support compliance with ISO 27001, NIST, DOE, or client-required security frameworks.

F. Coordination & Client Engagement

· Work with internal teams (mechanical, electrical, IT, energy) to integrate multidisciplinary systems.

· Coordinate with external vendors and equipment manufacturers.

· Provide end-user training and O&M documentation.

7. Optional Additional Competencies (Nice to Have)

· Experience with AI-based energy optimization or chiller energy manager systems.

· Knowledge of cloud-based SCADA or IoT platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT).

· Experience in scripting (Python, VB, JavaScript) for automation tasks.

· Experience with GIS integration or CCTV/FDAS system interfacing.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field.

PRC License (EE/ECE) is an advantage but not always required.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Minimum: 3–5 years hands-on experience in any of the following:

a. SCADA system integration, commissioning, programming, and maintenance

b. Building Management System (BMS), PLC automation, or industrial control systems

c. Network configuration for OT environments (switching, VLANs, firewalls)

d. Working with automation protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, OPC-UA, Profibus, SNMP, etc.
