ETF business specialist - reporting and perf

Team Mission: Central collection, production, validation & dissemination of data used transversally in reporting.

Our objective is to deliver on time complete and reliable data for other teams within Reporting Department as well as to optimize the data controls production channels.

The team is organized into four target pillars (this organisation will be gradually deployed following the production/business constraints):

- Data Controls Design & Implementation:

The team is responsible to reinforce the controls to perform in order to secure the reporting production. The team has the responsibility to design new controls in a responsiveness way based on the team members data knowledge, the past incidents and the data community needs. The backlog of the data controls also has to be prioritized and implemented in an agile way.

The team is also responsible to give a full visibility on the data controls results to the data community (data producers & data users). Each implemented data controls should lead to measured results in order to report Data Quality KPI’s.

- Data Controls Production & Analysis

The team is responsible to perform the current & future implemented controls as well as to give a professional analysis of the results.

The production of the controls is split into three main steps: (1) secure access to the data (through several databases, systems…), (2) run of the controls processes (depending the technology – sql, alteryx,…-) and save/send the controls results in an agreed & standardized way (pivot for instance).

The controls results could have to possible outcomes:

- The “True or False” (binary) controls results will lead to a direct remediation process.

- The other types of controls results (numerical variations triggered for instance) will first lead to an strong analysis in order to determine if it is a real issue or not: the team leverages on the data & asset management knowledge of its team members in order to assess that.

- Data Remediation Oversight /Follow up

Based on the data controls results & analysis, the team is responsible to initiate & oversight the remediation for the data owned by other teams. The team is responsible for all the calculated data in DMiR (mostly aggregation data) and there is responsible to correct its owned data if applicable. All the incidents have to be logged and followed in the chosen system (AskNow).

Based on the team members’ data knowledge as well as on the data community interactions the team is responsible to prioritize the remediation processes in order to deliver a maximized end-user value (for our clients).

The post-incidents/issues have to be evaluated (in the light of the data use & sensitivity) in order to have a proactive & efficient approach to secure the next productions.

- Data Community Animation:

In order to increase the communication & the knowledge about the data in our company the team is responsible to create & govern a data community (data users & data producers) that will have the following goals:

(1) Give visibility on the data quality of our reports to the users (internal & external);

(2) Give visibility to the data community on the remediation action plans (punctual or new controls to develop);

(3) Give the voice to the data community in order to capture relevant improvements;

(4) Capture new needs (through the governance and the projects);

(5) Increase our efficiency by communicating proactively on the issues in order to avoid unnecessary downstream workload.

The team is responsible to create & steer this governance by different communication channels: KPI mails, dashboard of controls, data forum, proactive communication during dedicated events…
