Manual QA Engineer – B2B SaaS Platform

Mission Context

We are supporting an international B2B SaaS company whose platform is used by enterprise customers across multiple markets.

The company operates in a product-driven and international environment, with teams distributed across several European offices and working closely across Product, Engineering, Cloud Operations and Support.

As part of the reinforcement of its Quality Assurance capabilities, the company is looking for a Manual QA Engineer to contribute to the quality and reliability of its software platform throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle.

The role is primarily focused on manual testing, while also involving automated testing activities as well as load and stress testing.

Main Responsibilities

Test Analysis & Preparation

• Analyse backlog items, user stories and functional requirements.

• Identify testing requirements and define the appropriate testing approach.

• Prepare detailed test plans and test scenarios.

• Estimate the effort required for testing activities.

• Identify potential risks and edge cases before development is completed.

Manual & Automated Testing

• Execute functional and manual tests across the platform.

• Perform automated tests where relevant.

• Validate new features, enhancements and bug fixes.

• Identify, document and track defects.

• Re-test fixes and ensure issues are properly resolved.

• Ensure expected behaviour across the different components of the application.

Release & Post-Release Testing

• Participate in pre-release validation activities.

• Perform post-release testing after deployments.

• Verify that released functionalities behave as expected in production environments.

• Identify potential regressions or production issues.

• Report testing outcomes and quality status to the relevant stakeholders.

Performance Testing

• Plan and prepare load and stress testing sessions.

• Define relevant testing scenarios and expected system behaviour.

• Execute performance testing campaigns.

• Analyse test outcomes and identify potential performance or stability issues.

• Collaborate with technical teams to support the investigation of identified bottlenecks.

Collaboration with Product & Technical Teams

• Work closely with Product, Engineering, Cloud Operations and Support teams.

• Contribute to quality throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.

• Clarify requirements and acceptance criteria with Product teams.

• Collaborate with developers to investigate and reproduce defects.

• Support Cloud Operations and Support teams when investigating production issues.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and testing practices.

Agile / Scrum Participation

• Participate in Scrum ceremonies and team activities.

• Attend Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning and Demo meetings.

• Contribute to backlog discussions and testability reviews.

• Provide visibility on testing progress, risks and blockers throughout each sprint.

Key Assignment Details

• Role: Manual QA Engineer.

• Contract: Freelance assignment.

• Start date: ASAP.

• Primary location: Paris, France.

• Alternative locations: Belgrade or Niš, Serbia / Milan, Italy.

• Work model: Hybrid – 2 days per week on-site in the local office.

• Working hours: French / CET working hours, approximately 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

• Working language: English.

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience as a QA Engineer, Manual QA Engineer, Software Tester or similar role.

• Strong experience in manual functional testing.

• Good understanding of Quality Assurance methodologies and testing processes.

• Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.

• Ability to analyse functional requirements and translate them into test scenarios.

• Experience writing and executing test plans and test cases.

• Experience identifying, documenting and tracking software defects.

• Comfortable working with technical and product teams in an Agile environment.

• Ability to investigate issues methodically and communicate findings clearly.

• Professional English required for an international working environment.
