Job description – Senior SAP FICO specialist

Context and objective of the mission

The mission is for a senior SAP CO expert and application owner responsible for delivering and managing SAP CO solution follow-up and first and second line support for Finance and Controlling activities. The role covers business support, change request delivery, blueprinting, fit-gap analysis, configuration, testing and go-live support, with possible involvement in an SAP S/4HANA implementation project.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Deliver and manage solution follow-up for SAP CO first and second line support for Finance and Controlling
• Manage delivery of change requests from business requirements analysis to go-live
• Participate in blueprint and fit-gap exercises for SAP CO
• Cover Controlling processes including planning, CO-OM, CO-PC and CO-PA
• Handle integrations with third-party tools, master data, and cross-domain topics with other SAP business areas
• Work closely with business process owners to understand business processes and requirements, ensure continuity of service and provide sustainable solutions
• Estimate effort in man-days and convert requirements into functional design, including impact analysis on existing systems
• Configure the system and write functional and technical specifications for SAP CO
• Document and test new or adapted functionalities, including unit and integration testing performed independently and in collaboration with stakeholders
• Support business onboarding through supervised testing, define test plans and execute go-live support to ensure smooth and quality-controlled deployment
• Depending on experience and interest, contribute to preparation, blueprinting, realization, data migration and go-live of an SAP S/4HANA implementation project

Profile required

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience
• Hands-on experienced SAP CO functional analyst with more than 15 years of experience
• Proven experience in previous SAP implementation projects in Controlling
• Familiarity with end-to-end business processes and their translation into SAP
• Strong analytical skills to perform blueprint analysis independently
• Strong experience writing functional and technical specifications
• Experience in business support and execution of change requests
• Ability to debug programming code
• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with ability to work independently in a large team environment

Communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to act as SPOC for finance professionals on the business side
• Ability to plan, run and manage workshops and meetings with business stakeholders
• Comfortable addressing technical topics with specialists in other IT and SAP domains
• Willingness to continuously learn and develop expertise
• Adaptability and flexibility to handle deadline pressure, ambiguity and change
• Willingness to share expertise and mentor junior colleagues

Conformity criteria

• Native speaker level in either Dutch or French, fluent professional proficiency in the other national language, and fluent professional proficiency in English
• On-site presence in Brussels is required at least three days per week, with mandatory presence on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
• Minimum 15+ years of hands-on SAP CO expertise covering planning, CO-OM, CO-PC and CO-PA
• Hands-on knowledge of SAP integration with e-Drive, Hastus, Robin and Erex

Evaluation criteria

• SAP CO implementation experience, including participation in at least one SAP Controlling implementation project with SAP S/4HANA
• Additional integration experience with SAP modules such as PM, PP, SD, FI and PS is considered an asset
• Demonstrated business process expertise across end-to-end processes and SAP implementation in multiple assignments within the last 10 years
• Ability to independently perform blueprinting, fit-gap and requirements analyses, supported by concrete project evidence
• Demonstrated experience producing functional and technical specifications, including context and level of responsibility
• Experience in business support, incident resolution and delivery of change requests in SAP environments
• Demonstrated troubleshooting and debugging capability for SAP-related programs, interfaces and custom developments

Informations concernant le télétravail :

Consultant must be present on-site in Brussels a minimum of three days per week; presence is mandatory on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
