Staff / Principal Software Engineer – AI Video Systems

This company develops advanced AI-powered video analysis solutions used by law enforcement agencies and public institutions to support investigations and enhance operational efficiency.

Its technology focuses on analyzing image and video streams at scale, within highly constrained and sensitive environments, with strong requirements around performance, reliability, and data sovereignty.

The team currently consists of ~20 people and is scaling rapidly.

Role

Looking for a Staff / Principal IC to step in immediately on a critical phase:

• Assess an existing solution developed within a governmental environment

• Deliver a technical due diligence (~2 weeks)

• Contribute to maintenance, stabilization, and migration into a new platform

• Work hands-on (code + architecture) in a high-stakes environment

• Support on-premise deployments across distributed sites

Profile

• Staff / Principal Individual Contributor (hands-on)

• Strong experience in complex backend / distributed systems

• Experience with on-premise or constrained environments

• Ability to take ownership of existing systems and improve them

• Strong technical judgment, comfortable in ambiguous contexts

• Nice to have

  • AI / Computer Vision / Video

  • Security / Defense / Public sector environments

  • Edge or distributed systems

• Location: Paris

• Start: ASAP (availability next week strongly preferred)

• Duration: 6 months freelance → potential full-time hire
