GCP DevOps Engineer – Banking Domain

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced GCP DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure for banking and financial services applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform, CI/CD automation, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, and cloud security, with an understanding of banking security and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, provision, and manage cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident management using Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Implement IAM, service accounts, Secret Manager, Cloud KMS, and least-privilege access controls.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, backup strategies, and business continuity.
• Troubleshoot production incidents involving application performance, networking, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure.
• Implement secure release strategies, including rolling deployments, blue-green deployments, and rollback procedures.
• Collaborate with development, security, QA, and operations teams to improve deployment reliability.
• Support banking security and compliance requirements, including auditability, access governance, and protection of sensitive financial data.
• Optimize cloud resource utilization, performance, and operational costs.

Required Technical Skills

• Cloud: GCP — Compute Engine, VPC, Cloud Storage, IAM, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud Monitoring.
• Containers: Docker, Kubernetes, GKE, Helm.
• CI/CD: Jenkins, Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform.
• Scripting: Bash and Python.
• Monitoring: Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Security: IAM, Secret Manager, Cloud KMS, vulnerability scanning, secrets management.
• Networking: VPC, subnets, firewall rules, DNS, load balancing, VPN and private connectivity.
• Version Control: Git and GitHub/GitLab.
• Operating Systems: Linux administration and troubleshooting.

Banking Domain Requirements

• Understanding of secure application delivery in banking or financial services.
• Familiarity with audit trails, change management, segregation of duties, and production release approvals.
• Knowledge of data encryption, secrets protection, access control, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience supporting business-critical applications requiring high availability and disaster recovery.
• Understanding of incident management, root-cause analysis, and production support processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Google Cloud certifications such as Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.
• Experience with SRE practices, SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and incident response.
• Familiarity with vulnerability scanning, policy-as-code, and automated compliance checks.
• Experience with multi-environment deployments and hybrid or multi-cloud infrastructure.
