Manager - Import Logistics

The sourcing manager will be responsible for developing, managing, and growing the Air Freight, Sea Freight and Road Freight vendor base across GCC markets (with sourcing from far east and India subcontinent). The role will focus on building competitive freight solutions, strengthening carriers and transporter partnerships.

The incumbent will work closely with commercial, operations and customer service to enhance service quality, operational efficiency, and customer experience while ensuring compliance with GCC customs regulations.

• Develop and execute Air, Sea, and Road Freight strategies across GCC markets, focusing on Far East and India subcontinent trade lanes.
• Manage relationships with airlines, liners, transporters, consolidators, and freight partners.
• Conduct RFQs, tenders, and proposals. Negotiate rates, contracts, space allocations, and SLAs.
• Build competitive value propositions around transit time, pricing, reliability, visibility, and compliance.
• Ensure competitive procurement and capacity planning across seasons.
• Monitor carrier performance and improve service quality. Monitor market trends and competitor rates.
• Coordinate with operations for seamless shipments. Proactively resolve escalations and issues.
• Monitor shipment KPIs and performance. Conduct customer presentations and solution workshops.
• Ensure regulatory and customs compliance.
• Prepare monthly business reviews and management reports.
• Use market intelligence and analytics to improve service offerings and margins

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration, or related field.
• 8 –10 years of experience in Freight Forwarding.
• Strong understanding of UAE/GCC freight market dynamics.
• Experience in rate procurement, carrier negotiations, and pricing management.
• Knowledge of customs procedures and freight documentation.
• Experience working with freight management systems.
