Product Design Engineer Data Center, Power and Telecom Rack

Role & responsibilities

• Design and develop data center racks, enclosures, and related mechanical systems
• Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and BOMs using CAD tools (SolidWorks & AutoCAD)
• Perform structural analysis, load calculations, and thermal considerations for rack systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, electrical, supply chain) to ensure design feasibility
• Work on prototyping, testing, and validation of designs
• Support new product development (NPD) and continuous improvement initiatives

Troubleshoot design issues and implement corrective actions

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Proven experience in designing data center racks or sheet metal enclosures
• Strong proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks / AutoCAD)
• Knowledge of sheet metal design, fabrication processes, and materials
• Understanding of thermal management and airflow in rack systems
• Familiarity with industry standards (19-inch racks, cable management, power distribution integration)
• Experience with DFMEA, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis
