Security Engineer / Architect

For our client, we are seeking a Security Engineer / Architect to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will shape security architecture and engineering practices across cloud, network, and application environments. You will help strengthen controls, reduce risk, and support secure delivery in partnership with technology and operations teams. The position is well suited for a hands-on security professional who can balance implementation, governance, and architectural guidance in a fast-moving regulated environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $110,000 – $145,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce cloud security controls across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments
• Monitor cloud configurations and respond to alerts using CSPM tools
• Guide architectural decisions for network firewalls and security systems
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and ensure remediation by relevant teams
• Champion secure development practices within the SDLC
• Own infrastructure remediation processes and maintain delivery cadence
• Oversee compliance with patch management processes and SQL security standards

Qualifications

• 3-15 years of experience in information security or security engineering
• Hands-on experience with network security tools, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN
• Familiarity with application security practices and core vulnerability types
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud environments
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux system administration practices
• Experience analyzing logs using SIEM platforms such as Splunk or Microsoft Sentinel
• Strong understanding of authentication protocols and access management
