SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Overview

Educate East is working with a supportive SEMH school in Norwich to find an SEN Teaching Assistant who can build trust with pupils who have social, emotional and mental health needs, and help them feel calm and settled enough to learn.

The ideal educator:

• A calm, consistent presence, even in challenging moments
• Genuinely interested in SEMH or additional needs education
• Comfortable following behaviour and de escalation strategies
• Happy to complete safeguarding training and an enhanced DBS check with us

You do not need years in a classroom to apply. We regularly place people who have come from care work, social work, youth work or coaching backgrounds, since so many of those skills transfer directly into an SEMH setting.

Pay: £14.25-£16.15 per hour

Expected hours: 32.5 per week
