Senior Software Engineer

Who you are

• 6-8 years industry experience
• Fluency in Golang, Python, & Postgresql or related technologies
• Full stack application development experience (Database, Services, Web)
• Experience building frontend applications in React
• Experience with maintaining infrastructure-in-code
• Experience with logging, alerting, and monitoring tools to support system quality
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adjust on the fly to customer needs
• Experience with infrastructure such as AWS and GCP and infrastructure-as-code
• Experience building systems with many integrations
• Experience with geospatial technologies and data

• In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional internal teams to develop our next-generation global monitoring application that powers Planet’s future growth
• Your work will be highly visible, directly enhancing how users gain rapid access to unprecedented geospatial datasets
• You will champion scalable architecture across backend services, frontend applications, and data solutions
• Ideal candidates are innovative problem solvers eager to push the boundaries of satellite data accessibility
• Participate in the entire engineering lifecycle, from concept to implementation
• Ownership of the quality and availability of mission systems
• Contribute to the improvement of our architecture, infrastructure, and processes
• Spearhead the design and development of scalable backend services and frontend applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate complex customer requirements into seamless features
