Staff GCP engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Staff GCP engineer to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.

This role will focus on strengthening cloud reliability, performance, and operational excellence across critical technology environments. You will partner closely with engineering and operations teams to support scalable cloud-based applications and improve the resilience of core platforms. The position combines hands-on cloud engineering, automation, and incident response in a highly collaborative setting.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $130,295 – $260,590 annually

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for GCP-based applications to ensure reliability and performance
• Automate tasks using scripting languages and Infrastructure as Code tools
• Implement security best practices for cloud resources
• Monitor and manage cloud resources including virtual machines, containers, and databases
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines with appropriate tools
• Set up monitoring and alerting systems for system health
• Participate in incident response and implement preventive measures
• Create and maintain documentation for system architecture and processes

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Functions
• 3+ years of experience with SRE principles and practices, including monitoring and performance optimization
• 3+ years of experience with CI/CD tools such as Google Cloud Build, Jenkins, or GitLab CI
• 3+ years of experience with container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes and Docker
• 3+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
• 3+ years of experience with monitoring and logging tools like Google Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, or Grafana
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills under pressure
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
