TECHNICIAN: TEST & VALIDATION

JOB PURPOSE:

VA Technology is a world leading manufacture of advanced automated systems for the investment casting industry.

The role of Technician within our Testing and Validation department is a crucial to our success. The role will involve the test and validation of our systems at our Telford premises and on site at customer locations worldwide.

Reporting to the Testing & Validation Manager you will be responsible for:

DUTIES:

• Test and validation of VA systems and equipment
• Commissioning of VA system and equipment, including: System software commissioning & generation (Robot AS, PLC and Kepware code)
• System fault finding and diagnostics
• Fault rectification
• System wide test and Inspection
• Set-up of in-house system software and industrial PCs
• Conduct customer training
• Conduct system servicing
• Development of Robot and PLC software
• Modification of engineering drawings to support system build and to improve quality
• Writing procedures and plans
• Completion of technical documentation including test plans and training modules

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings
• Hands-on experience building electrical and mechanical equipment and experience of testing /validating equipment preferred
• Knowledge/ experience of PLC’s and robotic programming
• Naturally analytical and inquisitive, a problem solver.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree or technically qualified to BEng / HNC in an electrical discipline or equivalent work experience

Full, clean driving licence & Passport are essential with willingness to travel both UK and abroad when required
