The Director of Clinical Operations is the operational steward of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology's six strategic pillars. Every priority, initiative, and accountability within this role is anchored to Patient Access, Patient Experience, Quality & Safety, Operational Excellence, and Staff & Provider wellness.
The Director of Clinical Operations (DCO) is a senior clinical and administrative leader responsible for the comprehensive operational oversight of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Montefiore Health System. The DCO provides direct leadership to all Nurse Practitioners (NPs), Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs), and exercises operational authority over all nursing support services through the direct management of the

This leader champions the expansion and sustainability of signature programs — including the Pregnancy Home Initiative — and ensures the department maintains the highest standards of regulatory compliance, accreditation, and certification, including The Joint Commission and all specialty-specific quality designations
Job Responsibilities

Create structured recognition, career development, and retention programs that reinforce a sense of purpose and belonging for all departmental staff
Serve as the operational lead for the Pregnancy Home Initiative and other signature departmental programs — driving program fidelity, expansion, outcome measurement, and sustainability
Identify opportunities to develop and launch new service lines, care models, and programs in collaboration with physician and APP leadership that address unmet patient needs and advance Montefiore's OB/GYN
Define, track, and report a comprehensive set of departmental KPIs aligned to the six strategic pillars, including clinical quality, access, productivity, experience, and financial performance
