The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager / Lead Site Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of a 42-unit residential development in Drogheda , comprising houses, duplexes and creche facilities.

This is a long-term project, expected to run for 18 months to 2+ years , with significant civil and groundworks activity during the early stages .

The successful candidate will be the lead person on site , taking ownership of the project from the initial civils and infrastructure works through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site.
• Lead and coordinate subcontractors, direct labour and site teams.
• Manage the initial groundworks, drainage, roads, utilities and civil engineering elements of the development.
• Coordinate construction activities to ensure the project stays on programme.
• Manage health & safety and ensure site activities are carried out in accordance with company and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, engineers, subcontractors and design team.
• Monitor quality, workmanship and progress across all elements of the build.
• Plan labour, plant, materials and resources required on site.
• Manage site meetings and coordinate different trades and contractors.
• Maintain accurate site records, reports and programme updates.
• Drive the project through the various construction stages to completion and handover.

Experience Required

• Proven experience as a Site Manager / Senior Site Manager on residential construction projects.
• Strong experience managing groundworks and civil works , particularly at the early stages of a development.
• Experience delivering housing developments from groundworks through to completion .
• Comfortable taking ownership as the lead person on site .
• Strong subcontractor and site-team management experience.
• Good understanding of construction programmes, sequencing and site logistics.
• Strong focus on health & safety and quality.

Important

This is not primarily a fit-out role .

The project has a significant amount of civils, infrastructure and groundworks at the outset , so we are specifically looking for someone with a strong main contracting / residential construction background who is comfortable managing a site from the ground up.
