Saw Operator

The Saw Operator plays a key role in the fabrication process by accurately cutting quartz, granite, marble, porcelain, and other countertop materials for production. This position is responsible for operating The Countertop Shop's Saber saw, ensuring materials are processed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load and unload stone slabs using overhead cranes and material-handling equipment.

• Operate the Saber saw to cut countertop materials according to production drawings and schedules.

• Review cut layouts and verify measurements prior to production.

• Inspect slabs for defects and determine the most efficient material utilization.

• Monitor machine performance and ensure accurate cuts.

• Perform routine maintenance and daily cleaning of assigned equipment.

• Troubleshoot minor operational issues and communicate equipment concerns to management.

• Conduct quality checks to ensure fabricated materials meet required specifications.

• Maintain material identification and organization throughout the fabrication process.

• Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Work closely with CAD, fabrication, and scheduling teams to meet production deadlines.

• Assist with other production and shop duties as needed.

Requirements:

• Manufacturing, fabrication, or stone industry experience preferred, but not required.

• Ability to read shop drawings, cut sheets, and measurements accurately.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Experience with overhead cranes and material-handling equipment is a plus.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
