Structural Engineer / Senior Structural Drafter

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare structural drawings, layouts, sections, details, and sizing for residential slabs and footings in full compliance with AS 2870 – Residential Slabs and Footings.
• Design and document 12D structural details and open roads requirements, ensuring full alignment with Australian Standards, NCC/BCA, and state-specific codes.
• Produce complete structural documentation, including foundation layouts, slab designs, footing details, beam/column schedules, and steel reinforcement layouts suitable for council submission and construction.
• Apply AS 2870 to classify sites, select appropriate slab systems, determine footing sizes, and specify concrete and reinforcement requirements.
• Ensure all 12D detailing and open roads design meet regulatory standards, structural adequacy, and buildability for Australian residential construction.
• Coordinate with Australian engineers, architects, certifiers, and clients to resolve technical queries, incorporate feedback, and ensure compliance with project-specific requirements.
• Review architectural documentation and produce structural solutions that integrate seamlessly with architectural design.
• Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to Australian standards and project specifications.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering OR Diploma in Structural Drafting / Civil Technology.
• Demonstrable experience applying AS 2870 to residential slab and footing design — essential.
• Proven knowledge and practical exposure to 12D structural detailing and open roads compliance requirements for Australian projects.
• Working knowledge of Australian Standards: AS 2870 (Slabs & Footings), AS 3600 (Concrete), AS 4100 (Steel), AS 1684 (Timber), and the National Construction Code (NCC/BCA).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit Structure, ArchiCAD, or equivalent structural drafting software.
• Strong understanding of residential construction practices, site classification, footing systems, and reinforcement detailing as used across Australia.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills for direct interaction with Australian clients and consultants.
• Familiarity with requirements across WA, NSW, VIC, QLD, TAS is highly advantageous.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Pay: Php19,273.63 - Php57,631.34 per month
