Finance Manager

The Townsville RSL is seeking a full-time Finance Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department. This is a hands-on finance leadership role suited to an accomplished finance professional with demonstrated experience across financial management, reporting and compliance.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Club’s financial operations and ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial management.

Key Responsibilities

You will be accountable for:

• Preparing accurate and timely monthly financial reports for the Board
• Processing payroll and superannuation accurately and within required timeframes
• Preparing and monitoring annual budgets
• Completing BAS and GST reporting
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Completing bank and credit card reconciliations
• Liaising with auditors, financial institutions, insurers and other external stakeholders
• Monitoring food and labour costs and providing financial insights to management
• Tracking cash flow and preparing cash flow forecasts
• Coordinating and finalising end-of-month stocktakes
• Providing financial advice and support to the General Manager and Board
• Ensuring financial processes, controls and reporting requirements are maintained to a high standard

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Qualified, with 5+ years’ relevant experience in a finance or accounting role
• Demonstrated experience in financial management and reporting
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and a high level of financial integrity
• The ability to work independently, prioritise competing deadlines and take ownership of responsibilities
• Strong computer skills and confidence working with accounting and financial systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to analyse financial information and provide clear, practical advice to management

Hospitality, club or similar industry experience is highly desirable
