GSPANN - Senior Data Analyst - SQL

About The Role We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Analyst with strong expertise in SQL, Power BI, data modelling, and business intelligence. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analysing complex datasets, developing interactive dashboards, building reliable reporting solutions, and translating business requirements into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, business opportunities, and performance gaps.
• Develop, maintain, and optimise interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Write complex and optimised SQL queries to extract, transform, validate, and analyse data from multiple sources.
• Create and maintain data models that support accurate reporting, analytics, and business decision-making.
• Develop and optimise Power BI measures, calculations, and transformations using DAX and Power Query.
• Support ETL processes, data integration, data cleansing, and validation to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Work with data warehousing solutions and large-scale data environments to support enterprise reporting requirements.
• Leverage advanced Excel capabilities for data analysis, reconciliation, reporting, and validation.
• Use Python for data analysis and automation where required.
• Work with Databricks to access, process, and analyse data within modern data platforms.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and translate business problems into analytical solutions.
• Ensure the accuracy, performance, usability, and maintainability of dashboards and reporting solutions.
• Troubleshoot data discrepancies, reporting issues, and performance bottlenecks, implementing corrective actions.
• Document data definitions, business rules, analytical logic, and reporting processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance data-driven decision-making.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6 - 11 years of relevant experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or reporting and analytics roles.
• Strong proficiency in advanced SQL, including complex joins, subqueries, CTEs, aggregations, and query optimisation.
• Hands-on experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Strong knowledge of DAX, Power Query, and data modelling.
• Experience with ETL processes, data transformation, data validation, and integration.
• Advanced Excel skills for analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modelling, and enterprise reporting environments.
• Exposure to Databricks and working with large-scale datasets.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into meaningful dashboards, KPIs, and actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
