About Central Gippsland Health

Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.

CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.

CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.

About Department

The Linen Service is a business unit of Central Gippsland Health Service supplying linen to 133 clients across multiple service models including health, hospitality and other private industries.

About the Role

The position scope is to work under the supervision of the Linen Service Manager and Floor Supervisor to effectively and efficiently operate laundry equipment and the washing, drying, folding, sorting and distribution of linen.

The Laundry Hand works in a team environment that requires effective interaction within the Linen Service and across CGHS services, departments and campuses and also external customers across multiple environments.

Duties

• Perform production tasks consistent with daily work plan including drying, folding sorting and preparing linen for distribution

• Directly report any irregularities to the Linen Service Manager / Floor Supervisor in relation to washing cycle, core infrastructure and badly soiled linen

• Maintain a clean and tidy work place

• Work in all areas of the laundry when required by the Linen Service Manager / Floor Supervisor

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Previous Laundryhand, Cleaning or Hotel experience desirable
• Current Drivers Licence and Transport essential
