Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

Supporting Actions

1. Planning

• For optimum utilization of GST provisions to save outflow of duties.
• Preparing annual budget with respect to indirect tax liability on the basis of production forecasts and taxation rates.
• Planning for optimum utilization of ITC to avoid working capital blockage.
• Advance planning for GST Audit and Annual Return.

1. Operational Excellence

• Liaising with GST Department to ensure speedy approvals and issue of authorization at all times.
• Interacting with the Advocates and Consultants for timely filing of Appeals and reply to Showcause Notice.
• Expediting the refund claim in time bound manner.
• Resolution of tax issues with cross functional team.
• Proper checks and review of GST transactions to avoid risk of noncompliance.
• Prompt response on query raised by the GST department.

1. Budgetary Controls

• Obtaining Refund of Coal Cess on Exports.
• Handling Legal disputes with GST authorities.
• Export on payment of tax and speedy disposal of refund claim.
• Prompt availment and utilization of ITC.

1. Compliance

• Ensuring effective statutory compliance of:
• GST Statute, Rules, provisions and notifications.
• Excise & Service Rules and provisions to the extent pending litigations and Audits.
• Minimizing litigation by strict adherence to the statutes.
• Ensuring compliance with respect to the Integrated Management System, Health SafetyEnvironment norms and security guidelines.
• Keep a breast with latest change in GST Law and assess its impact on business, and implement the same.

1. Customercentricity

• Reporting status of GST compliance as well as progress on litigation to the DH.
• Reporting monthly activity to the Corporate Taxation Cell.
• Periodically reporting contingent liability report/ CGR and progress made there on.
• Various information provided to GST Authority on need base.
• Stock report / MIS and other tax details shared across various department of the unit.

1. Sustainability and Process Improvement

• Improving processes to expedite workflows.
• Ensuring maximum utilization of automated platforms to maintain updated records and generate reports.
• Leading and participating in Kaizen and other improvement initiatives of the Organization.
• Partnering digitization initiatives and in creation and maintece of green belt.
• Ensuring good Housekeeping practices.

1. People development and engagement

• Monitoring and improving performance of team members.
• Ensuring training of all team members to enhance technical and behavioral competencies and increasing safety awareness.
• Improving team engagement scores.
• Keep team motivated to establish 5S culture.

• CA/CMA/CS
• Knowledge of indirect taxation laws and changes national and international including interpretations and applicability.
• Understanding of technical processes and issues at the Unit.
• Knowledge of key commercial statutes.
