Azure Yacht Design & Naval Architects is een gespecialiseerd ingenieursbureau gevestigd in Haarlem. Met een team van circa veertig professionals werken wij aan hoogwaardige nieuwbouw- en refitprojecten voor de internationale superjachtindustrie.

Wat ga je doen?

Als Structural Engineer ben je verantwoordelijk voor het ontwerp, de engineering en de beoordeling van constructies voor luxe superjachten.

Je werkt gedurende verschillende projectfasen aan:

• Ontwerpen en uitwerken van staal- en aluminiumconstructies;
• Opstellen en controleren van constructieberekeningen;
• Ontwikkelen van scantling plans en constructieve arrangementen;
• Uitwerken en controleren van constructietekeningen in AutoCAD;
• Beoordelen van constructies op sterkte, stijfheid en maakbaarheid;
• Afstemmen van technische oplossingen met Naval Architects, Designers en andere Engineers;
• Toetsen van ontwerpen aan classificatieregels en voorschriften van onder andere Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, ABS, DNV en RINA;
• Optimaliseren van constructies op gewicht, prestaties en bouwbaarheid;
• Signaleren en oplossen van technische uitdagingen tijdens ontwerp- en engineeringtrajecten;
• Begeleiden, beoordelen en / of uitvoeren van FEM/FEA-analyses.

Afhankelijk van jouw ervaring krijg je daarnaast de mogelijkheid om technisch richting te geven binnen projecten en collega's inhoudelijk te ondersteunen.

Wat breng jij mee?

Jij bent een analytische en nauwkeurige engineer die graag werkt aan technisch complexe projecten. Je schakelt makkelijk met collega's en vindt het leuk om samen tot de beste oplossing te komen.

Daarnaast beschik je over:

• Een afgeronde HBO- of WO-opleiding Scheepsbouwkunde, Werktuigbouwkunde of vergelijkbaar;
• Minimaal 5 jaar relevante ervaring binnen structural of construction engineering;
• Ervaring met staal- en/of aluminiumconstructies;
• Goede kennis van AutoCAD;
• Ervaring binnen de maritieme sector of jachtbouw;
• Ervaring met classificatiebureaus zoals Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, ABS, DNV en RINA;
• Goede beheersing van de Nederlandse en Engelse taal.

Pré:

• Kennis van Rhino;
• Ervaring met ANSYS of andere FEM/FEA-software;
• Kennis van NX, Multiframe of vergelijkbare software.

What will you do?

As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, engineering and assessment of structural arrangements for luxury superyachts.

Working across various project phases, your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing steel and aluminium structures;
• Preparing and reviewing structural calculations;
• Developing scantling plans and structural arrangements;
• Preparing and reviewing structural drawings using AutoCAD;
• Assessing structures for strength, stiffness and constructability;
• Coordinating technical solutions with Naval Architects, Designers and fellow Engineers;
• Ensuring compliance with classification society rules and regulations, including those of Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, ABS, DNV and RINA;
• Optimising structures in terms of weight, performance and buildability;
• Identifying and resolving technical challenges throughout the design and engineering process;
• Coordinating, reviewing and/or performing FEM/FEA analyses.

Depending on your experience, you may also have the opportunity to provide technical leadership within projects and support colleagues with your specialist knowledge.

What are we looking for?

You are an analytical and detail-oriented engineer who enjoys working on technically complex projects. You communicate effectively with colleagues and enjoy collaborating to develop the best possible solutions.

You also bring:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline;
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in structural engineering;
• Experience with steel and/or aluminium structures;
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD;
• Experience in the maritime or yacht building industry;
• Familiarity with classification society requirements, such as those of Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, ABS, DNV and RINA;
• Good command of both Dutch and English.

Desirable qualifications:

• Knowledge of Rhino;
• Experience with ANSYS or other FEM/FEA software;
• Familiarity with NX, Multiframe or similar engineering software.
