Photonics Test & Validation Engineer – Europe

GS Group are partnered with a photonics business developing advanced optical switching products and are looking for a Photonics Test & Validation Engineer to join their growing team.

Responsibilities

• Characterise, validate and optimise the performance of advanced photonic switching products.
• Develop and implement automated test methodologies for optical performance evaluation.
• Define system-level requirements, specifications and validation strategies.
• Drive product testing, verification and qualification from prototype development through to volume production.
• Analyse test data, troubleshoot performance issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate closely with R&D, engineering teams, customers and external partners to ensure product performance.

Experience

• Experience in photonics, optics, optical systems or photonic integrated circuits.
• Strong background in optical testing, characterisation and performance validation.
• Experience developing test methodologies, test setups and validation procedures.
• Knowledge of test automation, instrumentation and data analysis.
• Understanding of system-level requirements, product verification and qualification.
