Machinist Level 3 (2nd or 3rd shift)

Business Profile Wyman-Gordon is a worldwide supplier to the aerospace and industrial gas turbine markets. We hold quality accreditations for all the major airframe and engine manufacturers for both civil and military applications. Wyman-Gordon creates rotating closed-die forgings which are critical for aerospace and land-based gas turbines. Wyman-Gordon also manufactures structural forgings for airframe, nuclear, petrochemical, power generation, and space applications.

Location Profile: Located in Ontario, CA, Summit Machine, LLC specializes in the rough and finish machining of super alloys for the aerospace, commercial, defense, power, and petroleum industries. Complex components include nickel base, titanium, stainless steel, aluminum and carbon steels with parts ranging in size from 2” OD – 120” OD.

This position may support 1st shift (4:15am - 12:45pm, M - F), 2nd shift (12:15pm - 8:45pm, M - F), 3rd shift (8:15pm - 4:45am, Su - Th) operations, or a split shift depending on business needs. The selected individual may train on 1st shift for approximately 3 months, or until able to demonstrate an ability to perform the job with minimal intervention. Shift premiums will apply upon schedule change if applicable.

Position Summary The Level 3 Machinist operates multiple 2-5 axis CNC lathe machines simultaneously, which requires machine setup including preparing and setting up fixtures and cutting tools, loading and adjusting CNC programs and offsets, performing inspections and basic preventative machine maintenance such as coolant and lube levels and area cleanliness. Competencies include the ability to use more advanced quality inspection tools and techniques. Must be able to demonstrate intermediate-advanced print reading and have experience with common CNC G and M codes, with a basic understanding of GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerance).

Experience & Education

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years of machinist experience is required.
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing, automotive, or mechanics preferred.
