Payroll Accountant

Job Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant who can take ownership of payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, and related accounting responsibilities while working directly with clients and our professional staff.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly, biweekly, semimonthly and monthly payrolls
• Prepare and review federal and state payroll tax filings
• Process payroll tax deposits and payments
• Prepare W2s and 1099s
• Reconcile payroll accounts and payroll tax liabilities
• Maintain accurate payroll and employee records
• Work directly with clients to resolve payroll questions and issues
• Perform bookkeeping and general ledger reconciliations
• Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and client information

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on payroll accounting experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and familiarity with software like QuickBooks
• Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance standards·
• Knowledge of federal and Washington payroll requirements

Pay: $54,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
