Safety Coordinator

About the role

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining site-specific safety programs aligned with WSHA and company policies, ensuring proper documentation of risk assessments, Safe Work Procedures (SWP), and Permit-to-Work (PTW). The role involves conducting daily and routine safety inspections to identify hazards, monitoring compliance with PPE usage, equipment safety, and hazard communication, organizing toolbox talks and safety briefings, investigating incidents, and liaising with regulatory authorities to ensure adherence to WSHA, Codes of Practice, and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain site-specific safety programs aligned with WSHA and company policies
• Ensure proper documentation of risk assessments, Safe Work Procedures (SWP), and Permit-to-Work (PTW)
• Conduct daily and routine safety inspections to identify hazards
• Monitor compliance with PPE usage, equipment safety, and hazard communication
• Organize toolbox talks, safety briefings, and induction programs
• Promote safety culture among workers, supervisors, and subcontractors
• Investigate accidents, near-misses, and unsafe practices
• Prepare reports and recommend corrective/preventive measures
• Liaise with MOM and other authorities during audits and inspections
• Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and contractors to integrate safety into project execution
• Prepare monthly timesheets for site personnel and monitor their attendance, welfare and support

About you

• Must have safety coordinator cert (Adv WSH) minimum 3 years and above
• Must have diploma or degree in any field
• Must be able to work under construction sector
• Safety coordinating experience minimum 3 years and above
• Confined Space Assessor cert will be an advantage
• Coretrade/Multi Skill will be an advantage
• Preferred experience in Water treatment plant/Semicon/Solar Project
