WSP in the Middle East are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Construction Supervision team in Jordan, providing remote technical support to projects across the Middle East.

The position will focus on the technical review of mechanical submittals and design documentation, supporting project teams to ensure contractor submissions comply with the approved design, project requirements and applicable technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review mechanical technical submittals, shop drawings, material submissions and technical documentation.
• Review contractor design proposals and design changes against approved design documentation and project requirements.
• Review mechanical building services including HVAC, plumbing, drainage and associated systems.
• Identify design discrepancies, constructability concerns and technical issues within contractor submissions.
• Review BIM models and multidisciplinary information using BIM and Navisworks.
• Coordinate technical comments with electrical, structural, architectural and other project disciplines.
• Review responses to RFIs and technical queries relating to mechanical systems.
• Support the wider Construction Supervision team with technical reviews throughout project delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university.
• Minimum 5 years of Middle East experience, particularly within UAE, Saudi Arabia and/or Qatar.
• Previous experience at Senior Engineer level or above.
• Strong experience in construction supervision and design/submittal review.
• Experience reviewing contractor shop drawings, material submissions and technical documentation.
• Proficiency in BIM and Navisworks.
• Good understanding of multidisciplinary building services coordination.
• Ability to work effectively within a remote technical review and supervision environment.
