Data Engineer SAP BW

For our client, we are seeking a Data Engineer SAP BW to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space.

This role will focus on designing, maintaining, and modernizing enterprise data models that support analytics and reporting across a complex technical environment. The position will play a key part in migrating legacy SAP BW assets to cloud-based data platforms, improving performance, and enabling dependable reporting for business stakeholders. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions that support operational and analytical needs.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $107,500 – $204,500 annually

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain SAP BW data models, including InfoCubes and ADSOs
• Lead migration of BW 7.x models to the company's business data cloud
• Convert BW InfoObjects and transformation logic into CDS views for cloud use
• Map legacy BW objects to modern Datasphere entities effectively
• Optimize BW and Datasphere performance through query tuning and load monitoring
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into solutions
• Support reporting migration from BEx Queries to SAC applications

Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant experience or 5 years with an advanced degree in a related field
• Hands-on experience with SAP BW (7.x) or BW/4HANA, including InfoProviders and BEx queries
• Knowledge of migrating SAP BW objects to Business Data Cloud using Datasphere
• Familiarity with SAP ECC/S4 modules and their extractors
• Experience enabling analytics in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
