Principal Electrical Engineer – HV / MV Technical Specialist

Overview Principal Electrical Engineer – HV/MV Technical Specialist | Dublin We are seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer with strong high-voltage (HV/MV) expertise to join our Dublin team. This role combines technical leadership, consultancy, and project delivery , supporting complex projects across data centres, life sciences, food, and medtech sectors .

You will act as a subject matter expert , leading the design of HV/MV electrical systems , advising clients on power infrastructure strategies, and ensuring delivery of safe, efficient, and compliant solutions across the full project lifecycle.

Responsibilities Key Responsibilities

• Lead design and specification of HV/MV systems (substations, transformers, distribution)
• Deliver power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protection coordination)
• Provide client consultancy (feasibility, due diligence, infrastructure strategy)
• Ensure compliance with IEC/EN standards and best practice
• Support multidisciplinary project delivery, design reviews, and risk management
• Act as a key technical interface with clients, utilities, and vendors

Requirements Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 10–15+ years’ experience in HV/MV design and consultancy
• Strong knowledge of HV systems, standards, and power modelling tools (Caneco, ETAP, SKM)
• Experience in industrial, data centres or life sciences projects
• Chartered (or working towards) preferred
• Excellent technical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
