Linux Engineer

Role & responsibilities:

Location: TRUGlobal Office, MG Road, Bangalore (Onsite)
Shift: Rotational (24/7 Support Environment)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform L1-level Linux administration and operational support for RHEL, CentOS, and Ubuntu servers.
• Monitor Linux servers and infrastructure alerts in a 24/7 production environment.
• Handle basic incident troubleshooting, user support requests, and service restoration activities.
• Perform routine system health checks, log monitoring, and operational maintenance tasks.
• Support server provisioning, patching, backup verification, and access management activities.
• Escalate complex infrastructure issues to L2/L3 support teams with proper documentation.
• Assist in troubleshooting OS, compute, and virtualization-related issues.
• Support VMware/KVM virtual machine operations and basic infrastructure monitoring.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), incident management, and change management processes.
• Maintain operational documentation and update ticketing systems regularly.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in Linux administration/support environments.

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Linux operating systems:

• RHEL

• CentOS

• Ubuntu

• Understanding of Linux commands, file systems, user management, permissions, services, and process management.

• Exposure to monitoring tools, server health checks, and production support operations.

• Basic troubleshooting experience in Linux server environments.

• Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware or KVM.

• Understanding of networking fundamentals such as DNS, IP addressing, SSH, and connectivity troubleshooting.

• Willingness to work in rotational shifts in a 24/7 support environment.
