What they need
About the role
British Mandarin International School (a British-curriculum school with Mandarin) is looking for a qualified female PE teacher who is strong at teaching swimming to primary children (Years 1–6). You’ll help pupils build water confidence, swimming skills and a love of sport. Being able to teach badminton is a plus; basic golf is a bonus. The role includes supervising girls in the changing area, following our safeguarding rules.
What you’ll do
- Plan and teach swimming for Years 1–6 — water confidence, strokes, breathing and water safety.
- Check each child’s level, group them, and adapt lessons for all abilities.
- Keep lesson plans and progress records, and give clear feedback to pupils, parents and the Head of PE.
- Check the pool area, equipment and safety set-up before every lesson, and stop any unsafe activity.
- Follow all safety and emergency procedures, and work with the lifeguards on duty (teaching does not replace lifeguard cover).
- Keep a headcount and clear staff handovers during pool and changing times.
- Supervise the girls’ changing area professionally; arrange cover with the Head of PE when absent.
- Report any injury, near-miss or safeguarding concern straight away.
- Teach fun primary PE lessons (movement, fitness, teamwork), support sports days and clubs, and care for equipment.
What you’ll need
- Female applicants only (role includes girls’ changing-area supervision). Thai citizens welcome.
- Bachelor’s degree in PE / Sports Science / Education (or related) + a teaching qualification.
- A valid teaching licence (Thai applicants: Khurusapha licence; others: a recognised licence verified by HR).
- A recognised swimming-teaching qualification and real experience teaching children (competitive swimming alone is not enough).
- At least 2 years’ PE and/or swimming teaching experience, including primary.
- Current First Aid & CPR/AED, plus water-rescue/lifesaving competence.
- Good spoken and written English for teaching, reports and safety.
- Strong classroom management and a real commitment to safeguarding.
