  • Provide management oversight to workshop managers, supervisors, technical trades, quality-control personnel, spare-parts staff and mobile maintenance teams.
  • Plan maintenance priorities and manpower deployment across Mogadishu, sector workshops, forward operating bases and mobile-maintenance requirements.
  • Monitor workshop workload, work orders, maintenance backlog, fleet downtime, overdue repairs, parts holds and repeat failures, and implement recovery actions.
  • Ensure inspections, diagnosis, repairs, testing and return-to-service processes comply with contract requirements, manufacturer standards and accepted industry practice.
  • Lead technical quality assurance, root-cause analysis, NCR control and corrective-action closure for recurring defects and non-conforming work.
  • Coordinate spare-parts forecasting, consumables, tools, diagnostic equipment and specialist/OEM support for mission-critical systems.
  • Maintain accountability for UN-owned vehicles, workshop facilities, tools and equipment, including handover, takeover and reconciliation controls.
  • Enforce OHS, PPE, fire prevention, safe systems of work, spill response, hazardous-material control and environmental requirements.
  • Prepare accurate maintenance reports covering completed work, backlog, downtime, availability, manpower, quality, safety and resource constraints.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Automotive Mechanics or a related field.
  • A relevant diploma may be accepted with five additional years of qualifying experience.
  • Minimum ten years of experience in automotive maintenance and repair works.
  • Excellent verbal and written English is mandatory.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale and multi-site maintenance operations covering light, heavy, armored and special-purpose vehicles, MHE and earthmoving equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, workshop control, diagnostics, technical quality, work-order management, backlog reduction and fleet-readiness improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary and multicultural technical teams in remote, demanding or geographically dispersed operations.
  • Working knowledge of OHS, PPE, environmental controls, hazardous materials, waste management and workshop emergency procedures.
  • Experience supporting UN, humanitarian, defence, military-support or remote-site fleet operations is advantageous.
