IBM DataPower Developer

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced IBM DataPower Developer to join our Integration & API Platform team. In this role, you will design, develop, configure, and maintain secure integration solution objects on IBM DataPower Gateway appliances. You will play a key role in protecting enterprise services, optimizing message routing, enforcing security protocols, and enabling seamless communication across microservices and legacy backend applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Gateway Development & Configuration: Design, construct, test, and deploy Multi-Protocol Gateways (MPGW), Web Service Proxies (WSP), XML Firewall objects, and API Gateways on IBM DataPower appliances.
• Security Implementation: Implement robust enterprise security policies using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML 2.0, Mutual TLS (mTLS), JWT validation, and WS-Security.
• Transformation & Routing: Create XSLT stylesheets, Gateway Script (Node.js/JavaScript), and processing policies for complex payload transformations (JSON to XML, SOAP to REST), message enrichment, and dynamic routing.
• API Integration: Integrate DataPower Gateways with API Management platforms (e.g., IBM API Connect) and enterprise service buses (ESB/IBM MQ).
• Certificate & TLS Management: Manage Crypto profiles, SSL/TLS client/server profiles, public key infrastructure (PKI), and automated certificate renewal procedures.
• Performance & Troubleshooting: Monitor appliance CPU, memory, and throughput. Diagnose performance bottlenecks, system errors, and security failures using system logs, trace tools, and DataPower Probe.
• CI/CD & Governance: Automate appliance build, versioning, and deployment processes using Git, Jenkins, and Nexus repository managers (alongside DPConfig/DCM frameworks).
• Documentation & Best Practices: Maintain architectural blueprints, interface control documents (ICDs), and configuration guides adhering to enterprise standards.
