Slider Saw Operator

This position consists of feeding materials needed to our Lay-Up Department as well as doing lay-up work. Cut and label parts on a slider saw, performs miter cuts on a table saw, then gluing and folding pieces.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Performs all specialty cuts deemed unnecessary or impossible for the CNC
• Drives the pace and procedures for our in-house plan lay-up sheet system
• Receives direction from the supervisor and notifies them when more work is needed
• Maintains the work area, machinery and tools in a neat, clean and orderly fashion
• Follows all safety procedures, rules and guidelines and notifies the supervisor of any safety issues
• Prioritizes HOT jobs as required
• Maintains a working knowledge of the various wood species and differentiate between them
• Fills in other areas when needed

Qualifications:

• Highly proficient in reading blueprints
• Strong eye for detail
• Strong table saw skills
