Chargeman A4

About the role

The Chargeman A4 is responsible for the safe operation, inspection, maintenance and monitoring of the electrical installation and systems at IHT Johor. The role ensures electrical safety, reliability and compliance with statutory requirements while supporting the continuous operation of the healthcare facility.

Key responsibilities

• Take charge of the operation, maintenance and safety of electrical installations within IHT Johor
• Ensure all electrical systems and equipment are operated safely and efficiently in accordance with applicable requirements
• Carry out regular inspection, testing, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems
• Monitor and maintain electrical systems, emergency power systems and related electrical equipment
• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of the facility's standby generator and emergency electrical supply systems
• Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns, faults and emergencies to minimise disruption to patient care and daily operations
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules and maintain accurate maintenance records
• Ensure all electrical works are carried out safely and by authorised/competent personnel where required
• Supervise and coordinate electrical contractors and service providers, including monitoring work quality and compliance with safety requirements
• Coordinate with the Facility Manager, Technicians, Biomedical Engineer and Safety Coordinator on facility and technical matters

About you

• Valid Chargeman A4 competency certificate/licence recognised by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST)
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant working experience in electrical maintenance, building services or facility management
• Good knowledge of electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and safety practices
• Experience in operating and maintaining electrical systems, generators, switchboards and emergency power systems
• Familiar with statutory requirements and electrical safety standards
• Able to work independently and respond to electrical breakdowns and emergency situations
• Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills
• Responsible, safety-conscious and able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary Facility Department
