As part of its continued international growth, Çalık Enerji Swiss AG is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead strategic procurement activities across its global operations and projects. The role will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost optimization initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely, efficient, and compliant procurement processes that support business and project objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Economics or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus),
• Minimum 8–12 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role, preferably in energy, construction, or EPC projects,
• Strong expertise in procurement strategy, contract management, and supplier relationship management,
• Proven experience in international purchasing, global sourcing, and supplier negotiations,
• In-depth knowledge of Incoterms, international trade regulations, and supply chain processes,
• Advanced proficiency in SAP (MM preferred) and MS Office (especially Excel),
• Excellent command of English; German and Turkish are strong asset,
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills,
• Strategic thinking with strong analytical and cost optimization capabilities,
• High level of ownership, decision-making ability, and results orientation.

Responsibilities

Procurement Strategy & Management

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company and project objectives,
• Manage and oversee all purchasing activities to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance,
• Establish category strategies and sourcing plans for key materials, equipment, and services,
• Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and value creation,
• Build, manage, and develop strategic relationships with key suppliers,
• Lead and finalize high-value negotiations (pricing, commercial terms, delivery, and contracts),
• Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of purchase orders and procurement contracts,
• Ensure supplier performance is continuously evaluated based on quality, delivery, and cost,
• Manage and maintain a strong approved vendor list, ensuring supplier compliance.
• Ensure end-to-end procurement processes are executed in line with company policies and best practices,
• Oversee RFQ, tendering, bid evaluation, and supplier selection processes,
• Ensure timely procurement aligned with project timelines and operational needs,
• Drive process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives within procurement,
• Ensure all procurement data and transactions are accurately maintained in SAP systems.
• Partner closely with project, engineering, and finance teams to ensure procurement supports project budgets and schedules,
• Monitor procurement budgets, track cost savings, variances, and forecasts,
• Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, including supply chain disruptions,
• Support contract management related to EPC projects and supplier agreements.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements,
• Maintain strong internal control mechanisms within the procurement function,
• Support internal and external audits related to procurement processes,
• Ensure alignment with Head Office (Istanbul) procurement policies and reporting requirements.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing and procurement team members,
• Set performance targets and KPIs, and monitor team performance,
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement,
• Ensure effective communication within the team and with cross-functional stakeholders.
