Digital Business Analyst

Cathay Subsidiary Services consists of several independent departments that provides professional services to Cathay Pacific Airways Limited and its subsidiaries (the ‘Company’), including but not limited to Cathay Cargo Terminal, Cathay Dining, HAS by Cathay and Vogue Laundry.

The Digital Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying opportunities for digital transformation, and translating business needs into actionable requirements and solution recommendations.

The role acts as a bridge between business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to support the evaluation, implementation, and adoption of digital solutions, including process automation, AI-enabled applications, and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Solution Evaluation

• Work closely with business units to analyze existing processes, identify operational pain points, and explore opportunities for process improvement, digitalization, and automation.
• Conduct business process analysis, including process mapping, gap analysis, and root cause analysis.
• Gather and translate business needs into clear business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with IT teams, developers, and external vendors to evaluate solution feasibility and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Support proof-of-concepts (POCs), pilot projects, and solution evaluations to validate feasibility and expected business benefits.

Digital Transformation & Project Delivery

• Coordinate digital transformation initiatives across business units, IT teams, and external solution providers.
• Support project planning, progress tracking, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test scenario preparation, execution, defect tracking, and business sign-off.
• Support solution rollout, user training, change management, and post-implementation reviews to ensure successful adoption.
• Support business case development, cost-benefit analysis, and validation of project outcomes.

Emerging Technology & Continuous Improvement

• Stay informed of emerging technologies, including AI, RPA, low-code platforms, and workflow automation, to identify potential business applications.
• Work with technical teams and vendors to explore and assess digital solutions based on business needs and expected benefits.
• Promote continuous improvement and digital adoption across business units.

Other Functions

• Support the Digital Solution Assistant Manager in managing digital transformation initiatives and coordinating cross-functional activities.
• Support the planning and execution of digital culture activities to promote digital awareness, innovation, and technology adoption across the organization.
• Perform ad hoc duties or projects as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Management, Artificial Intelligence or a related field; candidates with other educational backgrounds and strong technology know-how combined with relevant experience will also be considered.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in business analysis, process improvement, digital transformation, or IT project implementation.
• Proven experience in requirements gathering, business process analysis, documentation, and stakeholder management.
• Familiarity with business analysis methodologies, process mapping, gap analysis, and UAT.
• Experience working with IT teams, developers, or external vendors on digital transformation projects.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project delivery practices.
• Familiarity with digital technologies such as AI, RPA, Power Automate, and low-code platforms is an advantage.
• Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, or SQL is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
