Mechanical Engineer

Education: Diploma / Higher Vocational Certificate (ปวส.) in Mechanical Engineering is acceptable

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inspection and assessment of port and terminal equipment.

• Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

• Troubleshoot mechanical problems and identify equipment failures.

• Work on or supervise maintenance of:

  • STS / Quay Cranes
  • RTG / RMG Cranes
  • Mobile Harbour Cranes
  • Reach Stackers
  • Empty Container Handlers
  • Forklifts
  • Hydraulic equipment
  • Winches, hoists and lifting equipment

• Check and understand mechanical components such as:

  • Gearboxes
  • Bearings
  • Brakes
  • Hydraulic systems
  • Wire ropes
  • Wheels and axles
  • Couplings
  • Chains
  • Structural/mechanical components

• Conduct site inspections and prepare basic inspection reports.

• Identify repair requirements and prepare material/spare-parts lists.

• Coordinate with technicians, subcontractors and equipment suppliers.

• Visit ports and customer sites throughout Thailand when required.

• Assist in preparing technical quotations and tenders for engineering work.

• Take measurements and collect technical information from site.

• Read basic engineering drawings, equipment manuals and technical documents.

• Follow up on repair and maintenance projects until completion.

• Maintain records of equipment condition, breakdowns and maintenance activities.

• Support the company's business development team by providing technical input for port engineering projects.

• Perform other engineering and site-related duties as required.

Port engineering roles typically combine maintenance, troubleshooting, reliability improvement, safety and coordination with technicians/contractors rather than being purely office-based engineering.
