Senior Product Design Engineer

该职位来源于猎聘 Position Purpose The Senior Engineer - CPI Design will be responsible for the continuous product improvement of global products including open cooling tower, fluid cooler, condenser, dry cooler, hybrid and adiabatic products. The role owns product portfolios, drives Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Product Change Requests (PCRs), lead and/or collaborate with global cross-functional teams to support the business by delivering innovative, cost-effective, well-performed and manufacturable solutions to the global products. • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to participate in and lead the discussion with global cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and 2D drafting software such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo (Pro/E), NX, or equivalent.
• Experience with Autodesk Vault (PLM system) and SAP (ERP system) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design standard and product development processes, with the ability to translate customer and business requirements into engineering solutions.
• Experience in product lifecycle management, engineering documentation, and highly configurable product design.
• Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, sheet metal fabrication, assembly operations, and DFX (Design for Manufacturing, Quality, etc.) principles.
• Ability to drive cost reduction, standardization, and continuous improvement through engineering changes and value engineering initiatives.
• Ability to evaluate technical risks, develop validation plans, and make data-driven engineering decisions.
• Proficient in structured problem-solving methodologies, including FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, 5-Why, and Fishbone Diagram.
• Ability to develop logical, data-driven technical reports and presentations for engineering and business audiences.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, Marketing, and Service functions.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects and priorities.
• Experience in leading global engineering projects. Mentoring junior engineers is strongly preferred. Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
• Create 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, engineering documents and release in SAP system.
• Own assigned product portfolios and drive product lifecycle management, including continuous improvement, cost competitiveness, quality enhancement, and technology roadmap execution.
• Develop innovative, reliable, and cost-effective solutions that meet customer, business, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Own and prioritize ECR/PCR portfolios, balancing customer impact, business priorities, engineering resources, and cycle-time performance.
• Evaluate technical risks, trade-offs, and design alternatives. Apply DFMA principles to improve manufacturability, product quality, and production efficiency.
• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities through design optimization, standardization, and value engineering.
• Summarize product knowledge and issues, share with NPI team for new product launch.
• Lead cross-functional engineering projects from concept development through implementation, ensuring scope, schedule, quality, and business objectives are achieved.
• Collaborate with Local Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, and Service teams to support product development and customers.
• Provide technical expertise for manufacturing support, customer applications, field troubleshooting, and product performance improvement.
• Leverage BAC approved AI and digital engineering tools to improve design efficiency and knowledge management.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and design review support to junior engineers and project team members.
• Promote engineering best practices, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence across the global engineering organization. Required Experience/Certification:
• Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering (Thermal Energy, HVAC, Refrigeration, Fluid Machinery and Engineering, Mechanical Manufacture and Automation, Mechatronic Engineering, Mechanical Design and Theory, or other equivalents)
• ＞8 years of mechanical design work experience in related industry.
• People or project leading experience will be a big plus.
