About me

Intro

I am a Geospatial Data Scientist with 15+ years of experience applying data science, geophysics, and spatial analysis to marine infrastructure, environmental risk, and subsea cable route planning. My work combines advanced geospatial methods, AI, and database engineering to deliver risk-informed insights that support critical infrastructure projects. At the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), I lead geospatial strategies for multi-country submarine cable systems, managing PostgreSQL/PostGIS databases (3.5TB+), building Python-based geospatial and machine learning workflows, and developing reproducible methods that optimize route planning and reduce environmental and engineering risks. Alongside this role, I founded GeoAI Works, an open initiative to document and share applied geospatial workflows for subsea and environmental infrastructure planning. These projects aim to create transparent, scalable, and reproducible tools, bridging technical innovation with practical engineering needs. Core strengths • Spatial AI & data-driven risk assessment • Database management & automation (PostGIS, Docker) • Python for geospatial modeling, ML & visualization • Subsea cable route optimization & infrastructure planning • Open science & reproducible workflows I am currently expanding my portfolio into broader geospatial & environmental risk analysis, applying transferable methodologies to renewable energy, critical infrastructure, and climate adaptation. Based in Galicia, Spain, fully available for remote collaborations across Europe and internationally, and open to hybrid roles with occasional on-site presence when aligned with project needs.
