Bihar Mausam Sewa Kendra (Bihar Weather Services Centre) is a vision of Govt. of Bihar and the aim is to make Bihar prepared for the upcoming extreme weather situations by developing near accurate early warning system. I am working here as a Remote Sensing (RS) and GIS Scientist and leading the RS & GIS team to assist other teams- Meteorology, Hydrology, Seismology, Database Management System, and Information Dissemination by delivering of maps, satellite images, spatial data, and other information on daily basis. The team is actively involved in a few other works, details provided below: • The team is responsible for timely & accurate delivery of daily weather maps to the stakeholders & officials for Bihar • Identification, analysis and delivery of inundated are as through optical and radar satellite data of Bihar for extreme flood events; and to study the vulnerable regions to Heat Wave & Cold Wave and its adverse effects • Development of unique IDs for Automatic Weather Stations & Original Rain Guages at Block Level (Nos. 534 each) and Automated Rain Gauges at Block Level (Nos. 8000+) • Involved in the development of the hydrological models with the Hydrology team to combat the storm- surged urban flood situation for Patna city, the capital of Bihar • Working with the Meteorology Team for the Development of Fog Alert System and Lightening Alert System • Involve in development of real-time GIS dashboard to provide weather information through maps and graphs on Bihar state are underway

In Mahamana Centre of Excellence in Climate Change Research (MCECCR), Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi I worked under the National Supercomputing Mission, a flagship program of Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India. My roles and responsibilities were mainly included efficient use of Remote Sensing and GIS techniques for climate change impacts. Few details are provided below: • Spatial modelling of flood susceptible zones using multi-criteria decision making model the flood Kosi River Basin in Middle Ganga Plain • Land-change dynamics of Varanasi city using multi-sensor satellite images and comparison for better use of the accurate data; • Contributed as a team member in use of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning on weather forecasting (climate modeling) and its efficient analytics • Participated with the team of Research Scientists, Research Associates, Research Fellows, and Students in different publications, book chapters, organization of conferences/workshops, and other miscellaneous activities

In the span of 9+ years in SERB, I have been involved in wide range of Schemes/Fellowship programs in different roles. The followings are a few domains where I worked with Scientist(s) and Advisor to promote the basic science: • Operations: for planning, scrutiny, funding and monitoring of extramural R&D programs & schemes, fellowships, chair professorships and high-end projects under public-private partnership (PPP) mode and participation in other operational tasks, if required, time to time • Assistance: accurate and effective administrative support and advice, if needed, to the new applicants & existing principal investigators/awardees. Assistance to the program coordinators/program officers as well as to the administration and finance, if needed, for smooth operations of the program/scheme • Maintenance: of accurate & organized records of program related files/data in the electronic as well as physical databases for ease of access • Organization: actively involved in organization of internal and high-level committee meetings for fresh project proposals and ongoing projects • Coordination: for various evaluation committees of SERB and through best practices ensure ease of business • Creation: Designed & Developed numerical matrix to assess the performance of individuals’ contribution towards S&T and further it was considered for selection of applicants under ‘National Science Chair’ scheme of SERB. Also prepared a weight distribution matrix of all schemes/programs and how much weights are shared by each SERB officers were further calculated in the matrix • Innovation: Assistance in creation of an Inter-Ministerial new program ‘Accelerate Vigyan’ [https://acceleratevigyan.gov.in/] of national importance, including designing its logo and the web portal (PPMS) for online submission of applications • Development: of “Flow Diagrams” capturing entire gamut of activities and tasks for a few schemes funding mechanisms in SERB

• Team Lead: Major tasks completed are- (a) Lead twelve (12) teams for the production work of “Golf 3D Visualization” project. Involved as a team leader to guide the production teams for creation of high quality of 3D flyovers and still graphics of golf courses (09, 18 and 27 holes courses); (b) Completed the QC work for the produced files by all teams and; (c) Communicate with international clients (USA and European countries) to assist them for queries related to the project by email/telecon & delivered the project successfully;

Contributed significantly towards Public & Private projects- • CamDrive Project (Here Maps)- Independently completed the QC for existing roads (National & State Highways and District Roads) & points of interests (POIs) for most populous states – Uttar Pradesh, Bihar & Delhi of India through road surveys for updation of Here Maps Navigation Database • TTSL (Tata Telecom Services Ltd.) Land base/Land cover planning Project • Destination Maps- 3D mapping of Malls and major Shopping Centres • A Government of India Project to collects building footprint data with the help of satellite images and verifies them with the ground survey

• Assisted in the CSIR funded project entitled- ‘Confluence Dynamics of lower son river with river Ganga: tectonic and climatic implications. The part I was involved in Georeferencing, Database Creation, Vectorization and Field Survey by utilizing the Survey of India toposheets, Satellite Images, GIS and GPS.

• ‘Building and Roof Intersection Capturing’- A European agency funded project for creation of building databases by using high resolution (0.25 m) Aerial Photographs. • ‘Madhya Pradesh Land Records’ Project- The project of Govt. of MP was aimed for to store the Khasara maps land records and to see the change detection.
