As Manager, Contracts, I was responsible for the management of the Contracts team within the Research Innovation and Commercialisation Division (RIC) of the University of Melbourne. I was also responsible for the Contracts team's output, which encompasses the negotiation and finalisation of research and commercial engagement agreements, as well as the monitoring and management through to completion of those contracts.

Drafted, negotiated and advised on software and data licensing and solutions-based agreements with the company’s clients from around the world, focusing on IP and risks; provided advice on commercial, IP and contractual matters

I was responsible for facilitating knowledge transfer through commercialisation of knowledge products (technologies and research outputs) and knowledge services (education, training, consultancies) of the Faculty of Health, Engineering and Science of Victoria University. I provided advice on commercial contracts, including conducting preliminary contract review and due diligence on intellectual property.

I headed the Intellectual Property Research and Training Institute of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines. I drafted the Strategic Plan and Operational Plan for the Institute, and created and organised training programs and drafted a research agenda. I also served as consultant to the Philippine Department of Science and Technology in drafting the bill for the now enacted Technology Transfer Act of the Philippines.

I assisted the Philippine Department of Science and Technology draft the Technology Transfer Bill and I participated in the Technical Work Group deliberations in the House of Representatives (Congress). The bill has been enacted into law as the Technology Transfer Act (R.A. No. 10055) of the Philippines.

I headed my own research laboratory on DNA Vaccines at the National Institute of Molecular Biology & Biotechnology; served as Associate Dean of the College of Science; and later as Vice Chancellor for Research and Development
