About me
Intro
I work at the intersection of systems architecture, applied AI, and practical engineering, focusing on making complex workflows behave reliably in real operational environments. My background spans embedded DSP work in satellite communications, national-scale public sector platforms, cybersecurity automation, and more recently AI-assisted tooling for RevOps and SOC teams. I tend to work on problems where requirements are incomplete, constraints are real, and success depends on shaping something workable rather than idealised. I enjoy taking ambiguous or messy problems and giving them structure: defining boundaries, designing the workflow, and building enough of the system to prove whether it delivers value. I work hands-on, with an architectural mindset, and I'm comfortable moving between early prototypes, integration design, and delivery with analysts, engineers, and operational teams. Recent work includes a production AI-enabled reporting workflow used by a managed SOC team, and an Odoo–OpenAI integration for RevOps that combined retrieval, context design, and orchestration flows. I've also worked on Linux-based deployments and CPE configuration for security tooling. Earlier in my career, I worked in embedded systems and multi-core DSP environments at Thales UK, which shaped my approach to disciplined engineering under constraint. Based in Reading, UK.
Work experience
Principal Engineer (AI and Systems Architecture) / Cybersecurity Consultant
Antarex Cyber
Jun 2023 - Oct 2025
2 years 5 months
Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia
*Applied AI & Operational Workflow Engineering* – Led applied AI initiatives for RevOps and SOC teams, turning analyst workflows into production-ready, LLM-assisted systems. – Built an Odoo-OpenAI integration using retrieval, structured context, and multi-step workflows to support decision-making and document generation. Designed flows as staged pipelines (data → context → model → structured output → validation) so outputs were consistent, reviewable, and usable by non-technical users. – Developed a multi-step SOC reporting workflow (analysis → charts → narrative → document) that reduced turnaround from days to under an hour. Added validation and retry handling to improve reliability and avoid silent failures in production. – Focused on translating ambiguous workflows into predictable system behaviour, iterating on prompts, context, and outputs so the system could be trusted in daily operations. *Security Platform Deployment & Systems Integration* – Technical lead for a SASE (SD-WAN) deployment (ATOMNIA OMNIA with Check Point), taking it from prototype to live multi-site rollout. – Worked hands-on across CPE, Azure identity, and network/security layers. – Coordinated 15+ teams to reach deployment-ready configurations under real traffic. – Acted as the main technical interface with customers and vendors, clarifying trade-offs and aligning system behaviour with operational realities. *Device-Level & Edge Systems Work* – Built and supported Linux-based edge environments for security workloads (Wazuh, OPNsense). – Handled cross-layer diagnostics in live environments, strengthening understanding of failure modes, constraints, and operational reliability.
Project Manager, Assistant Vice President
CIMB
Jan 2023 - May 2023
5 months
Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Worked within CIMB's Strategic Projects Delivery function on a high-profile integration programme with a major e-commerce partner, supporting a regulatory-driven initiative involving data ingestion, reporting, and cross-platform coordination. The role focused on managing technical and organisational complexity rather than routine project administration. I worked across 10-15 teams spanning infrastructure, data engineering, core banking, compliance, payments, and external partners, helping clarify dependencies, surface risks, and keep delivery aligned under tight regulatory and governance constraints. Operating inside a formal banking environment required disciplined reporting, clear communication of status and risk, and careful handling of compliance and audit expectations. The experience strengthened my ability to work effectively in regulated settings where delivery is shaped as much by rules and oversight as by technical design.
Concorde Technology Sdn Bhd
Sep 2016 - Dec 2022

Technical Delivery Manager
Jun 2017 - Dec 2022
5 years 7 months
47000 Elmina, Selangor, Malaysia
*National-Scale Government Platform (2017-2020)* – Served as senior technical lead and architect for a multi-year revamp of a national government system used by the majority of employers in Malaysia. Led architecture and delivery across multiple phases, coordinating up to 30+ developers across several teams at peak. – Delivered the first production phase in 2019 and led delivery of key modules for the second phase in 2020. The system remains in daily use by government staff and employers nationwide. Work involved translating complex regulatory and operational requirements into scalable system design, managing cross-team dependencies, and ensuring continuity while replacing legacy components. *Commercial Web Platforms & Product Delivery (2020-2022)* – Led architecture and delivery of multiple new web portal products across car insurance, HR management, professional education, and job-seeker domains. Owned solution design, module boundaries, and delivery coordination across multiple development teams. – Successfully delivered several platforms to production by Q1 2022, bringing MVP products to market while balancing speed, technical debt, and evolving business requirements.
Practice Lead - IoT & Applied Analytics
Sep 2016 - Dec 2017
1 year 4 months
47000 Elmina, Selangor, Malaysia
– Led pre-sales and early delivery of custom IoT and data-driven solutions for financial, governmental, and enterprise clients. Designed and built proof-of-concept systems combining edge devices, sensors, communication networks, and backend services to demonstrate feasibility and business value. – Also led teams delivering bespoke visual analytics and interactive data visualisations, working closely with data science practitioners to turn raw data into clear, decision-support narratives for clients across finance, engineering, and retail.
Senior Software Engineer
Asian Business Software Solutions (MYOB South Asia)
Jan 2015 - Aug 2016
1 year 8 months
– Worked on compliance-driven updates and new functionality for the MYOB accounting product suite across Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong, including Payroll, Retail POS, and the flagship Premier platform (accounting, inventory, and reporting). – Contributed across the full product development lifecycle, from technical analysis and design through implementation, debugging, refactoring, and release. Work involved maintaining and extending large, long-lived codebases under regulatory and commercial constraints, with a strong emphasis on correctness, stability, and backwards compatibility. This role built a solid foundation in disciplined software engineering, database-backed systems, and working within mature commercial products where changes must be reliable and auditable.
Principal Research Engineer
Thales UK
Jan 2010 - Jan 2014
4 years 1 month
Reading, UK
Worked on the development of an embedded satellite communications modem for an internal customer, built on a multi-core DSP platform within a safety- and performance-critical environment. Responsibilities spanned application and library development, networking interfaces, inter-core communication, and performance and memory optimisation under tight resource constraints. The role required close collaboration with hardware, systems, and test teams, and a strong focus on system behaviour, concurrency, and reliability. This experience reinforced disciplined engineering practices in environments where correctness and predictability matter more than speed of iteration.
Senior Research Engineer
Thales UK
Jan 2005 - Jan 2009
4 years 1 month
Reading, UK
Led and delivered several applied research and prototype systems across aeronautical and smart-infrastructure domains. This included a full-lifecycle navigation simulator for a proprietary aviation system, and participation in a European Commission programme exploring smart building and wireless sensor network technologies. Work combined embedded systems, backend services, and visualisation tooling, with an emphasis on proof-of-concept validation, integration across heterogeneous components, and deployment in live or semi-live environments.
Research Engineer
Thales UK
Jan 2002 - Jan 2004
2 years 1 month
Reading, UK
Joined Thales following postgraduate research at UCL, contributing to internal exploratory work on wireless ad-hoc networking. Focused on simulation, modelling, and test-bed development to characterise performance, reliability, and quality-of-service behaviour in early wireless networking technologies. This early work developed strong habits in structured reasoning, experimental validation, and system-level thinking that continue to inform my approach to engineering today.
