Part of my role was also to help them prepare for their exams by establishing a study strategy and planning. I was able to successfully transfer my knowledge to them and I really enjoyed to see them succeed.

The purpose of the SMC is to raise the awareness of students on marketing by introducing them to a broader and more recent perspective of the field than what is generally taught in class. To achieve this, the SMC organizes projects and workshops in collaboration with companies and ULB services. The objective is for students to have the possibility to work on concrete cases and issues that companies are facing. During my 5 months at the Club, I was responsible for creating the sponsorship file to be sent to companies in order to get their support for our project. I also established a strategy based on a database that we could access in order to find sponsors.

During my internship, I was part of the Marketing team within the After-Sales department of the company. I was able to quickly adopt a key role in the team by completing the assigned tasks faster than expected, which then allowed me to acquire growing responsibilities over the five months. Some of the most notable projects I worked on are: ♦ Winter wheels business management: sales and orders monitoring for Belgium, daily support to the national dealership network (120 points of sale), monthly turnover predictions to help decision making in terms of marketing actions, identification of shortages in supply so that actions could be taken in order to fulfill customer's demands with the cooperation of the Global Logistic Centre located in Germany. ♦ Brussels Motor Show 2016: selection and optimal stock estimation of Mercedes-Benz Collection products to be sold in the shop. Result: 25% increase in turnover despite 3,3% less visitors. ♦ Active participation in the set up of the Marketing Plan for 2016 - proposed a different marketing model which was adopted by the team. ♦ Online communication and operational follow-up of marketing actions, creation of credit notes. Achievements ♦ Creation of a winter wheels sales prediction template consisting of an excel sheet for each point of sale with important KPI's. Objectives: help the dealership network and release pressure on supply chain by stimulating preorders. Challenge: technical complexity of gathering data of 120 points of sale and presenting them on a single page. ♦ Establishment of a dashboard to track the official Mercedes-Benz dealerships' after-sales performances using KPI's, creation of a national ranking of points of sale in terms of turnover. The dashboard was actively used by the CEO and directors for decision making. ♦ Contributed to significant increase in winter wheels sales as compared to previous year.

The SFC has the mission of helping students to discover the different opportunities in the financial sector. Indeed, after taking finance classes, it is still difficult for students to imagine what it concretely means to work in this field. My responsibilities during my five months included contacting companies in the banking and financial sector (such as BNP Paribas Fortis, Morgan Stanley, ING) and organizing events at the Solvay Brussels School. Students who attended were able to listen to experienced managers and ask questions to get a better idea of how a career in financial services looks like.
