Introduction

I’ve been fascinated by networking since the moment I learned what a packet is during a class at university. That curiosity never really went away. I still enjoy understanding how things work under the hood, why they break, and how to make them better. Today, I’m a Network Security Engineer with 11+ years of experience building secure, scalable, and automated network infrastructures across diverse multi-vendor environments. I enjoy solving complex problems, learning new technologies, reading blogs with practical examples, discussing real-world issues with colleagues and friends, or experimenting in my home lab. I’ve had the great opportunity to lead several major projects, such as designing and building a greenfield data center for one of the leading telecom operators in Croatia, based on modern and scalable Cisco ACI infrastructure secured with dedicated Next-Generation Firewalls across multiple network perimeters. I also worked for one of the world’s largest cybersecurity companies on implementing automated Arista EVPN/VXLAN fabrics using Python, Ansible, and GitLab CI/CD, which significantly reduced provisioning time and eliminated human errors.
