Wrote HTML5+CSS3+JS web ads (i.e. not native apps, but ads that are viewed by accessing a URL, usually after a banner tap) to run in Safari and Chrome on iOS (iPhone and iPad) and Chrome and native Android browser on Android. Decided to leave after one year to study painting in Florence (see section on Russian Academy of Art), painting and drawing has been a long-term hobby for me. Also worked on Windows Phone Internet Explorer and Windows 8 Surface tablet. Strong emphasis on touch interactivity and CSS transitions, animations and transformations. And tight JS -- i.e. minimal framework usage -- we were working for delivery over the mobile network which demands quick download times (this also includes careful consideration and optimisation of image use). While here I worked with professional in-house graphic designers to produce ads for a lot of big brands, here is a partial list: Emirates, Virgin Media, Vodafone, Starbucks (Guatemala), Audi, Peugeot, Honda, Tesco, Sainsbury's (Easter recipes), Asda, Acer, L'Oreal (cross-platform Facebook app), Nokia Lumia, Windows Phone, Blackberry Z10 (w/ YOC), B&Q, Microsoft Office 365 (w/ YuMe, for iOS/Android/Windows tablets), HP Envy, HP Storage Journey, Sagres beer (cross-platform Facebook app), several big Hollywood productions such as Ted, Jack Reacher, Gangster Squad... and more. Worked with Celtra's AdCreator and Simplytics Analytics.

This was a job I had while in my 3rd year studying at Bristol Uni. A lot of long nights, and a lot of cleaning. Hard work, but enjoyable because I worked with a great bunch of people. Went the extra mile, with a smile, to make sure my customers were satisfied.

During A-levels and university, one year part time, other years during the summer. - Main tasks were bug reporting/testing, pre-release testing, regression testing, writing test documentation. - In a small team working closely with developers, with Scrum development cycle with daily meetings. - Used JIRA and FogBugz for bug tracking. - Wrote testing documents for flagship mining software product Studio 3. - Testing done on Windows XP, Vista and 7. "Exhibiting an impressive level of tenacity and hunger for learning, even when exposed to highly complex mining-domain related disciplines, Dominic quickly and expertly grasped core concepts in order to undertake a methodical, creative and highly appropriate level of software testing and development. It is unusual to find this level of professionalism in a junior member of staff. I would unreservedly employ Dominic in a full-time role if the opportunity arose. Dominic is a friendly, sharp, motivated and engaging person who sets himself (and achieves) very high standards. " --- James Newland. Software Development Manager – CAE Mining
