Created in 2004, Quantam is an investment group, at the crossroads of finance, technology and entrepreneurship. As Head of Research and deputy-CEO (2013-2015), I designed the algorithms of the dynamic hedging strategies than run the CGEM Flex fund (launched in 2011), and the Nomura Quantam SolCap Europ fund (launched in 2015). The Nomura Quantam SolCap Europ fund objective is to offer clients long only exposure to the DJ EuroStoxx 50® Total Return index with reduced tail risk, while reducing equity drawdowns through an innovative dynamic allocation algorithm. I designed and managed the dynamic hedging strategy of the Comgest CGEM Flex fund (AUM € 120M), a flexible emerging markets equity fund with a net exposure to equity after hedging varying between 20 % and 100%, using an optimized basket of futures on emerging market indices as hedging proxy and a proprietary dynamic volatility indicator. I also designed and directed between 2010 to 2014 a research program for developing new algorithmic techniques to identify and exploit new market biases. This research program had a budget of €1.3M. It was sponsored by OSEO/BPI France and included research on support vector machine, pattern recognition, Kalman filters and machine learning. This research led to the creation of funds managed by high frequency quantitative trading strategies.
