As budget manager, my role is to be the main financial contact for studies, project partners and sponsors for BIG. In this context, I prepare and negotiate BIG clinical research budgets together with project teams, and follow-up on these budgets. I am also responsible for the grants’ budget preparation and financial reporting. I work on HR controls and I implemented and manage 30 employees time sheet process. My role also involves controlling and authorizing BIG payments for project expenses to ensure reliability and integrity of financial information. I administer allotted clinical research funds in accordance with the budget, the project milestones and following approved procedures. I assist the legal department by participating in the negotiation of the financial aspects of contracts developed for BIG collaborations and clinical trials. As budget manager, I also act as legal entity appointed representative (LEAR) for EU projects by preparing and submitting EU financial reports. In consultation with other team members, I help in developing systems such as new templates (budget, reporting), SOPs and policies related to budget administration and reporting. These systems have aimed at improving the efficiency of the finance department.
