Amongts the "Phosphates, Pharmacotechnics, Biomaterials" team of CIRIMAT, the theme of the internship was the elaboration of a pasty and bioactive biomaterial for bone substitution. The material is made of calcium phosphates and calcium carbonates which structure was supposed to be analogous to the human bone. The project was conducted between researchers from CIRIMAT and medical surgeons from the Oncopole of Toulouse, and funded by the charity fundation "Gueules Cassées". The shared goal was the creation of a biomaterial capable of substituting the human bone of patients suffering from osteoradionecrosis of the mandibula.

The topic of the internship was The elaboration by powder metallurgy of the thermoelectric system CoSb3. Starting from Cobalt and Antimony powders, the aim of the work was to obtain a thermoelectric material with a correct yield. Thus, I have pressed the powders at different pressures, sintered them at different temperatures and durations, all along monitoring the thermoelectric properties and the relative density of the samples. I succeeded to obtain the wanted phase, and reached a relative density of 90% et an electrical resistivity of 0,236mΩ*cm, which was considered as a very positive result.

The aim of the internship was to follow the elaboration by casting methods of mechanical parts involved in the structure agricultural vehicles. I've followed all the process from the delivery of raw materials to the ultimate operations as surface treatments. I've managed to master several fabrication processes in the field of metallurgy: material preparation at the high furnace, composition analysis, casting, moulding, identifying and correcting casting defects, surface treatments

This internship alloyed me to acknowledge the working of a huge international company in one of the closest field to my training. For a material engineer, the study of corrosion, it treatment or prevention are very crucial topics that a he must master. I have observed on live the daily work of the "Inspection and Corrosion" unit and I: • planed inspection, corrosion protections and none destructive tests rounds of the oil facilities • studied corrosion phenomenon, proposed protections or solutions and applied them. • studied and made cathodic protection systems. • did quality controls over different facilities throughout none destructive means and metallographic analysis. • participated to the elaboration of welding specifications, the obtaining of qualification of welding processes and welders. • established a data basis about inspection, maintenance and regulatory controls.
